We believe your memories and data belong to you, not the cloud.

Focus was born out of frustration. We had terabytes of videos—family memories, work meetings, creative projects—sitting on hard drives, completely unsearchable. Cloud solutions existed, but they required uploading everything (slow, expensive) and giving up privacy (unacceptable).

We built Focus using the power of modern AI, but with a strict Local-First philosophy. Rust backend, Metal/CUDA GPU acceleration—all running locally on your hardware.

By default, core indexing, AI analysis, and search run locally using your device. Focus does not track your footage or searches. Model downloads, licensing and updates use the network; optional cloud workers upload only explicitly confirmed media, and connected providers may receive bounded returned text or metadata.
